HDC REVIEW: BEAVER’S ON WESTHEIMER, FEB 2018
February’s club meeting took place at Beaver’s on Westheimer for Happy Hour and dinner.
Attire: Casual. Plenty of people there after work still in suits though.
Ambiance: Laid-back, family friendly. They have multiple, separate areas to sit or hang out, indoors and outdoors. We sat on a covered patio next to the large X-shaped fire pit. Lots of TV’s both inside and out.
Service: Our waiters were very helpful and attentive throughout the night. Food and drinks came quickly. Valet for parking was also very quick and helpful.
Food: We ordered the beaver tails and smokey queso– both were very delicious. For our main courses, we ordered a variety of barbecue plates and the red-fish BLT po-boy. The brisket and ribs were stand-outs, and the red fish sandwich was huge. A couple of people thought the pulled pork was a bit too sweet.
Drinks: A great variety of cocktails! We enjoyed the aperol spritz, the agave old-fashioned, and the pink beaver. Beer and wine list didn’t disappoint either.
Overall: Beaver’s on Westheimer served as a fun place for us to all meet up after work. We stayed well past happy hour and enjoyed good cocktails and barbecue. Beaver’s stands out because of the atmosphere. It is a very warm and welcoming place with a great patio, and the restaurant layout makes it feel homey, even though it is a fairly large venue. The food and drinks hit the spot, too. Families, couples, groups of friends, and even large parties (you can rent out one of the bar areas) can all be accommodated and feel comfortable here.
