THIS WEEKEND IN HOUSTON: 2/22/2018 – 2/25/2018
Here are our picks for things to do this weekend.
NATIONAL MARGARITA DAY
Thursday, February 22, 2018
Looking for a good place to celebrate this delicious beverage? Caracol, Xochi, and Hugo’s will have a margarita-paired tasting menu and will offer “The Greatest Margarita Ever Sold” for $15 all day. Molina’s, Cyclone Anaya’s, and Eight Row Flint are all offering great specials on their versions of the drink as well. Houston Press did a nice write up on different options for a margarita in Houston.
“THURSDAY NIGHT TAKE OVER” @ FLUFF BAKE BAR

A new monthly event hosted by Fluff Bake Bar, “Thursday Night Take Over” will feature guest chefs who will prepare a menu of three or four items available a la carte. This Thursday’s featured chef is Chris Shepherd, who will be highlighting his new restaurant UB Preserv. Reservations and tickets are not required, and 10% of proceeds will benefit Share Our Strength’s No Kid Hungry program.
WORLD’S CHAMPIONSHIP BAR-B-QUE CONTEST @ NRG PARK
Thursday, February 22, 2018 – Saturday, February 24, 2018
This weekend is the Houston Rodeo’s World’s Championship Bar-B-Que Contest (also known as BBQ cook-off)! I am particularly excited about this event, and as someone who has attended for several years, I often get questions about cook-off. If you are wondering what this Bar-B-Que Contest is all about, you can read more here. Tickets to get in the gates are $15, and include one-day carnival admission, a plate of barbecue, and access to great entertainment at the Miller Lite Stage.
